Philly McMahon has been named as the new Naas senior football team manager.
The eight-time All-Ireland SFC winning corner back with Dublin fills the void left by Joe Murphy, who stepped down in March to take charge of his native Carlow following Shane Curran’s resignation. Pádraig Cribben has served as interim manager in the meantime.
McMahon, who reportedly turned down the chance to manage Derry last autumn, will hope to lead Naas to a five-in-a-row of Kildare SFC titles later this year and to also break their Leinster duck after they came close to doing so in recent years.
