Limerick were in ruthless form as they inflicted a 3-26 to 1-16 defeat on Cork at the TUS Gaelic Grounds this afternoon.
The result, along with Tipperary’s win over Waterford earlier, means that Limerick and Tipp will progress from Munster into the All-Ireland senior hurling championship, with Clare now officially eliminated and a showdown between Cork and Waterford next Sunday to determine which of those two teams will finish in the top three in the southern province.
Aaron Gillane’s brilliant goal set the tone for the Treaty men just three minutes into the sell-out clash against the Rebels at the TUS Gaelic Grounds, as they went on to run up a 1-12 to 0-6 lead before Adam English fired in their second goal on 26 minutes.

The hosts would carry in a 2-18 to 0-9 advantage at the break would remain in control throughout the second period.
Even a Patrick Horgan goal from a free in the 60th minute would be erased by a Gillane penalty two minutes later as the Munster champions cruised to a statement victory.
Next Sunday sees the Shannonsiders hosts Clare in the fifth round, while Cork must beat Waterford at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on the same afternoon to keep their summer dreams alive.
