Adam Screeney is set to miss Offaly’s remaining Leinster SHC games against Kilkenny, Wexford and Antrim after suffering an injury setback.

The Tullamore Tribune is reporting that the gifted attacker sustained a suspected ankle fracture in the first half of Offaly’s Leinster U20HC quarter-final loss to Dublin on Bank Holiday Monday. He played on to score 0-8 from placed balls, but couldn’t prevent the reigning Leinster and All-Ireland champions from making an early exit.

The Kilcormac/Killoughey clubman had only just returned from a groin injury which forced him to miss UL’s Fitzgibbon Cup campaign and all of Offaly’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1B games, including the final against Waterford.

The Faithful could do with Screeney’s scoring prowess as they seek to avoid a quick return to the Joe McDonagh Cup after losing their first two Leinster SHC fixtures to Dublin and Galway.
