Dublin got their second win in as many games in the Leinster senior hurling championship today by seeing off Wexford (3-26 to 4-19) at Parnell Park.

Goals from Rory O’Connor and Cian Byrne helped Wexford to edge a 2-11 to 0-16 lead at half-time and they’d add a third goal to their tally via Cathal Dunbar in the 45th minute.

The hosts responded brilliantly to Dunbar’s strike by netting in the next attack through John Hetherton and then winning a penalty in the 50th minute which Wexford ‘keeper Mark Fanning looked to have saved from Sean Currie, however the umpire raised the green flag after deeming the sliotar to have crossed the line.

It’d go from bad to worse for the Slaneysiders as they conceded a third goal in six minutes, with Hetherton again finding their net, and the points of Currie and Darragh Power stretched the capital men’s lead out to five with a dozen minutes remaining.

Conor Donohoe and Currie added to the Dublin advantage late on ahead of Lee Chin firing in what proved a consolation goal for Wexford from a 20 metre free.
