Cavan continued their impressive form in the Lory Meagher Cup by handing Lancashire a 3-24 to 2-14 defeat at Kingspan Breffni this afternoon.
Stephen Sheridan, Nicky Kenny and Sean Keating struck the goals for Ollie Bellew’s side as they recorded their third win on the bounce, with the Exiles slipping to their third loss in-a-row.
Monaghan picked up their second win of the campaign by seeing off Warwickshire on a 4-22 to 2-15 scoreline in Inniskeen.
James and Shane Slevin combined for 3-3 for the hosts in the first-half at end of which they took in a 3-8 to 0-10 lead, while Michael Lyons went on to bag their fourth goal of the afternoon in the 70th minute.
There’d be no separating neighbours Longford and Leitrim as it finished 1-14 apiece at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Having edged a 1-8 to 0-10 lead at half-time, the home side fell five points behind midway through the second-half before clawing their deficit back to one and Martin Farrell’s injury-time free would ensure them a share of the points.
