North Kerry will be represented by just one district team in this year’s Kerry SFC following the amalgamation of Shannon Rangers and Feale Rangers.

It comes after delegates voted 55-3 in favour of the merger at last Monday night’s county board meeting. North Kerry’s late inclusion will see the championship format slightly amended.

Under the new format, the seven divisional teams will play off in preliminary rounds with five of them qualifying for the Kerry SFC proper. They will then be joined by the nine club teams, namely champions Dr Crokes, last year’s runners-up Dingle, Na Gaeil, Austin Stacks, Templenoe, Milltown/Castlemaine, Kenmare Shamrocks, Rathmore and Spa.
