Limerick manager Jimmy Lee could hardly contain his delight after his side’s Allianz Football League Division 4 final victory over Wexford.

While some counties showed a clear disinterest in the latter stages of this year’s league due to its close proximity to the championship, Limerick embraced it and were rewarded with a rare Croke Park victory on Saturday evening.

“It’s humongous,” Le enthused.

“To win silverware is momentous for the group – especially some of the longer serving guys like Killian Ryan, Tommy Childs, Iain Corbett, Paul Maher Danny (Neville) and 'Nasher' (Peter Nash).

“It’s truly massive for these lads, and the youngsters too. I’m just thrilled for the group. Winning silverware builds character. Winning is a habit and we had the losing habit long enough so let’s keep this winning habit.”
