Waterford had minimal fuss as they cruised towards a 2-23 to 0-11 win over Antrim at Corrigan Park this afternoon.

The game saw Antrim boss Davy Fitzgerald plotting against his former team and, in the end, the visitors simply outclassed the Saffrons.

The Deise men’s goals came from Padraig Fitzgerald and Stephen Bennett (penalty) inside the opening 16 minutes at the west Belfast venue, where they moved towards a commanding 2-14 to 0-4 lead.

Charlie Treen and Kieran Bennett stretched the visitors’ advantage after the change of ends, with the difference at the final whistle being 18 points.

The result marks a second win in Division 1B for Peter Queally’s men, while Antrim were consigned to their third loss.
