Corrigan Park in west Belfast

Antrim have stood firm on their stance over hosting the Ulster SFC quarter-final clash against Armagh in April after nominating Corrigan Park as their preferred venue at last night’s meeting of the Ulster Competitions Control Committee (CCC).

There have been expectations that the April 12th fixture will be moved to a bigger venue after Ulster Council had stated that the west Belfast ground, which holds 4,000 at its capacity, “does not meet the required health and safety standard to accommodate this fixture”.

However, Antrim’s players have said that they will not play the game at any other venue.

Last night’s meeting saw a final decision on the issue deferred, with more talks scheduled to try and break the impasse.
