Diarmuid Murtagh became Roscommon’s all-time top scorer after registering 0-12 in his side’s victory over Monaghan on Sunday.
The Rossies moved top of Division 2 in the Allianz Football League thanks to a 0-25 to 2-14 victory over the Farney men at King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, where Murtagh was in outstanding shooting form for the hosts.
The St Faithleach's clubman’s dozen points brought his total to total to 19-333 so far in a Roscommon jersey, which means he overtakes the late Dermot Earley as the county senior football team’s top scorer.
Murtagh has registered 0-25 after the first three rounds of the Allianz League, playing an integral part as Davy Burke’s men sit top of the table in their pursuit of a return to Division 1.
