Laois club Graiguecullen have appointed Maurice Browne as their new senior football manager.

A former county selector under fellow Kerry man Mike Quirke, Browne won a Wexford SFC title with Gusserane O’Rahillys in 2016 and also managed Killeshin and the Carlow U20s. A member of the teaching staff at CBS Carlow, he takes over from Kevin Doogue who steered Graigue to SFC and JFC semi-final appearances last year.

“Graiguecullen GAA are delighted to confirm the appointment of Maurice Browne as our new Senior Football Manager ahead of the 2025 season,” the Carlow-border club posted online.

“Maurice joins the club with huge experience having guided Gusserane O’Rahillys (Wexford) to a county championship in 2016. He took charge of Killeshin and the Carlow U20 footballers over the past number of seasons and was a selector with the Laois Senior Footballers during Mike Quirke’s tenure. Most noticeably, Maurice was in charge of the CBS Carlow team who won the Post Primary All-Ireland ‘B’ Championship in 2015.

“We would like to wish Maurice and the team the very best ahead of the new season.”
