Dessie Hutchinson has been named Waterford senior hurling captain for 2025.

The appointment comes as the former professional soccer player with Brighton prepares for Ballygunner's latest Munster club SHC final against Sarsfields of Cork at FBD Semple Stadium on Sunday. The highly-rated forward has been a key man for club and county since concentrating solely on hurling in 2020.

New Waterford manager Peter Queally has also handed the vice-captaincy role to Lismore's Iarlaith Daly.
