Former Kildare and Clare 'keeper joins Laois club

Former Kildare and Clare goalkeeper Robert Eyres has moved to Ballyroan-Abbey.

Former Kildare and Clare goalkeeper Robert Eyres will play his club football in Laois next year after transferring to Ballyroan-Abbey.

Eyres joins from Clane, having previously lined out for Kildysart in Clare. He made a number of appearances for the Kildare senior team over a decade ago and played championship football for Clare in 2018.

Eyres’ latest club were defeated by eventual champions Portarlington in this year’s Laois SFC quarter-final.

Former Longford star Paul Barden has also transferred from Clonguish to Celbridge where he has served as a senior football selector in recent times.
