Tipperary's Aishling Moloney

Aishling Moloney has finished the AFLW season as joint-leading goalkicker.

The Geelong sharpshooter shared top spot with Taylor Smith of the Brisbane Lions after they both kicked 21 goals during the season. The tally is more than double the 10 goals Moloney bagged in her debut season last year and is all the more noteworthy after the Cats finished in the bottom half of the table.

She scored a whopping six goals in Geelong’s penultimate game of the season against West Coast Eagles, but was held scoreless by Adelaide Crows in the last round, allowing Smith to equal her tally with two goals against St Kilda.

Moloney said last week that she hopes to continue playing both ladies football with Tipperary and Aussie Rules for Geelong, despite plans by the AFL to bring the AFLW season forward which would see it overlapping with the All-Ireland ladies football championship.
