Adare captured the Limerick senior football championship for the first time in four years after defeating Fr Casey’s by 1-10 to 0-8 at Mick Neville Park.
Having lost on this stage on the last three occasions, Adare made a strong start here by posting 1-3 unanswered in the opening 17 minutes in Rathkeale.
Hugh Bourke’s goal in the 10th minute would be backed up by points from Shane Costelloe and Bourke, who finished with 1-5, before Fr Casey’s got the scoreboard moving on their side via the points of Diarmuid Buckley and Martin Scannell.
More frees from county man Bourke saw Harry Gleeson’s men go in at the break with a 1-5 to 0-2 half-time lead and, while Fr Casey’s were able to reduce their arrears to two points at one stage in the second period, another brace of points from Bourke down the home stretch ensured Adare their fourth SFC success.
