Adam Screeney hit 0-10 as Kilcormac-Killoughey made it back-to-back Offaly senior hurling championship titles at Ballinamere’s expense in Tullamore.

The holders' 0-16 to 1-11 victory at Glenisk O'Connor Park was inspired by the late heroics of their county U20 star whom struck a hat-trick of points in the closing minutes to get them over the line.

Kilcormac-Killoughey looked to be in control heading towards half-time before Dan Ravenhill’s goal in injury-time sent the teams in all square (0-8 to 1-5).

Colin Spain nudged K-K ahead again but Ballinamere weren’t going away as they levelled three more times before hitting the front through Aaron Maher’s point in the 44th minute.

Dan Bourke would make it a two-point game a minute later and, although a brace of points from Screeney arrived for the favourites, Brian Duignan’s effort had the scoreboard reading 1-11 to 0-13 in Ballinamere’s favour with three minutes left in normal time.

From there, it was ‘The Screeney Show’ as the livewire attacker sent over three points unanswered to seal Kilcormac-Killoughey’s second consecutive Sean Robbins Cup success and an eighth SHC triumph for the club overall.
