Four Roads are Roscommon senior hurling champions for the 37th time after recording a 3-12 to 2-11 victory over St Dominic’s at Dr Hyde Park this afternoon.

Conor Morris starred with 2-5 over the hour for the holders as their late surge saw them complete another three-in-a-row feat and further extend their lead of SHC titles over Roscommon Gaels (24).

The winners’ dire start saw them conceding a Mickey Joe Egan goal just three minutes into this decider and the same player would bet again in the 21st minute.

A Morris point eventually got Four Roads off the mark a minute later and they’d grab a deflected goal from Brian Mannion a minute before half-time to go in trailing 2-8 to 1-3.

Morris and Cathal Dolan helped trim the difference down to five after the change of ends and, from there, the final quarter would belong to the champions.

A second goal from Morris was backed up by an Adam Donnelly point before Morris’s ‘65’ surged them ahead and a goal from Donnelly in injury-time sealed another Mickey Cunniffe Cup for Four Roads.
