A camogie semi-final in Westmeath last weekend was notable for the strong involvement of one family in particular.
Castlepollard defeated Cullion by 5-15 to 2-11 in Raharney's Joristown pitch to reach their third consecutive junior ‘A’ championship final with a huge input from the McCormack family. Former Westmeath hurling star Darren McCormack managed the winning ‘Pollard team which included his wife Liza, daughter Caoimhe, sister Janette and sister-in-law Jemma Maybury!
Not only that, Darren’s father-in-law Martin Egan was also part of the management team. Martin is Liza and Jemma’s father and Caoimhe’s grandfather. Talk about a family affair!
