Three-in-a-row chasing Gowna will face 2021 champions Ramor United in the semi-finals of the Cavan senior football championship in two weeks’ time.

The holders accounted for Ballyhaise on Friday night while Ramor secured a 2-13 to 1-8 victory over neighbours Castlerahan at Kingspan Breffni this evening.

After the sides went in all square at the break (0-7 to 1-4), goals from skipper Jack Brady and Matthew Smith helped the Virginia men on their way to an eight-point victory in Cavan Town.

Earlier today, Crosserlough continued their rich form by demolishing Ballinagh on a 3-13 to 0-6 scoreline to book their semi-final berth.

Having led by two at the halfway stage, the 2020 winners moved through the gears after the change of ends and bagged goals via Matthew Costello, Patrick O’Reilly and Harry Boylan.

The Kilnaleck side now face Cavan Gaels for a place in the county final after the latter’s 2-8 to 0-12 win over Mullahoran yesterday at Kingspan Breffni, where Luke Molloy’s goal in injury-time was the difference for the Gaels after having Gearoid McKiernan red carded early in the second-half.
