Speculation is mounting that Davy Fitzgerald is Antrim-bound.
The Saffrons joined the list of counties with hurling managerial vacancies last week when Darren Gleeson stepped down after five years. The former Tipperary goalkeeper, who initially served as a selector under Neal Pedan, guided Antrim to Joe McDonagh Cup wins in 2020 and '22, and kept them in the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2023 and '24.
The much-travelled Fitzgerald, who recently brought the curtain down on his second spell in charge of Waterford and has also been linked with Galway vacancy, is believed to have met with Antrim GAA officials last week. There is also speculation that former Cork goalkeeper Anthony Nash could be heading north with the Sixmilebridge man.
