Last night’s ‘Up For The Match’ programme on RTE paid a touching tribute to the late great John O’Mahony.
The two-time All-Ireland winning manager passed away three weeks ago following a long illness. He was 71 years old.
O’Mahony had two stints in charge of his native Mayo and also famously led Galway to Sam Maguire Cup triumphs in 1998 and 2001. He would also steer Leitrim to the county’s second ever Connacht SFC crown in 1994.
Tributes have poured in since his passing and this latest one from RTE came on the eve of the biggest date in the football calendar:
