This afternoon’s Munster senior hurling championship final between Limerick and Clare at Semple Stadium has been delayed by 30 minutes due to a power outage in Thurles.
The game was originally scheduled to throw-in at 4pm, but has been changed to 4.30pm due to the outage which has caused issues at FBD Semple Stadium.
Munster Council PRO Dermot Lynch told RTE Sport: “Unfortunately we had a serious power outage in the whole of Thurles and that has obviously affected the stadium here in Thurles as well so we have met with all the stakeholders and Gardaí and the event controllers and in the interest of heath and safety we have given an extra 30 minutes.
"We obviously have issues with the scoreboard and hawk-eye so we are working closely with the ESB to get it all back up and running quickly. Once it goes it affects everything in the stadium."
