Kilkenny boss Derek Lyng says yesterday’s impressive Leinster SHC final performance against Dublin had been coming from his team.

The Cats crushed their capital counterparts with a 3-28 to 1-18 victory at Croke Park to secure their fifth provincial title in-a-row and cruise towards the All-Ireland semi-finals.

Speaking to RTE Sport afterwards, Lyng said he was delighted with the display his players put on at headquarters.

"We closed down Dublin really well; our workrate all over the pitch was pretty good,” he said.

“We were efficient and our use of the ball was good. I felt it was a performance that had been coming and we got things right for the majority of the game. I was really pleased with that.

"It was good performance today but we need to improve again [for the All-Ireland semi-final]."
