Barry McNulty believes the Tailteann Cup is the perfect place for Leitrim to build on their promotion to Division 3 of the Allianz League.
McNulty’s injury-time free handed Andy Moran’s side a dramatic victory over neighbours Longford last Sunday and a place in the knockout stages of the second-tier championship ahead of their final round-robin game against Kildare next weekend.
“The Tailteann Cup is a great competition,” McNulty told gaa.ie
“Hopefully we will get a nice run of games, hopefully four or five, if it all goes to plan. You just want to try to build a bit of consistency and a few performances, maybe even blood in a few lads, who can play a part next year for us in Division 3.”
“It is great for the future, myself and a few others like Jack Foley, these lads coming in making their debuts, playing consistent minutes which is great.”
