A crowd of about 15,000 is expected at this evening’s Leinster U20HC final between Offaly and Dublin at Laois Hire O’Moore Park.

Offaly supporters are expected to dwarf their Dublin counterparts as Leo O’Connor’s charges bid to put provincial titles back-to-back and get back into another All-Ireland final. With Adam Screeney shooting the lights out, this Offaly team has built up a huge following since defeating Laois in the 2022 Leinster MHC final, a game which was also played in Portlaoise.

In a social media post, Offaly GAA has asked supporters to turn out in big numbers once again.

"Our U20 hurlers have a crucial match coming up on Wednesday evening against a formidable Dublin team. Offaly GAA is encouraging all supporters to show their support by travelling en masse to Portlaoise,” the post read.

"These young men have inspired a new generation of children to pick up a hurley and play our national games across our small county. Let's come together to support the team in their Leinster final!"

The game will also be broadcast live on TG4 from 7.25pm.
