Leitrim kept their promotion hopes in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League alive with a late victory over league leaders Laois this evening.
It finished 0-17 to 1-13 at Laois Hire O'Moore Park, where the visitors registered six of the last seven points, including Barry McNulty’s winner, as they now sit in joint second place along with neighbours Longford ahead of next weekend’s final round of games when they’ll face Tipperary at home.
Longford kept themselves in the frame for promotion heading towards the seventh round after handing Carlow a 0-14 to 0-8 defeat at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, while London made that Waterford will finish bottom of the table after seeing off the Deise men by 1-13 to 0-11 in Ruislip.
Meanwhile, this evening’s clash between Wexford and Tipperary in Enniscorthy was called off due to an unplayable pitch. The game has since been refixed for tomorrow (Sunday) at Fethard Town Park (throw-in 4pm).
