Carlow gave their promotion hopes to Division 3 of the Allianz Football League a massive boost after edging out Leitrim by 2-14 to 1-16 at Netwatch Cullen Park this afternoon.
Having led by two at the halfway stage, the hosts slipped behind in the closing 10 minutes and, after getting it level, did so again in injury-time when Colm Hulton's rocket to the corner of the Leitrim net won it for them.
In Thurles, Laois kept their 100% record intact by scraping past Tipperary with a narrow 0-11 o 1-7 victory.
In the end, it was Paul Kingston’s late free that worked the oracle for the O’Moore men and denied Tipp a second draw in the competition in the process.
Meanwhile, Longford picked up their second win by handing London a 3-12 to 1-10 defeat at Pearse Park, where Dessie Reynolds, Keelan McGann and Daniel Mimnagh bagged the home side’s goals.
