Six-time All-Ireland winning manager Jim Gavin is set to lead a new review group that will look to bring improvements to the playing rules of Gaelic football.

After being ratified at Congress in Newry this afternoon, incoming GAA president Jarlath Burns announced that former Dublin boss Gavin will head up the group to consider any potential improvements to Gaelic football.

"I have established a football review group that will be led by the one and only Jim Gavin," the Armagh man stated.

The review group will look at potential rule interventions, starting with 12 motions that are already set to be submitted before Congress next year.
