Darren Clarke won’t be part of Ardee St Mary’s bid for a three-in-a-row of Louth SFC titles this year after announcing his retirement.
The former Louth sharpshooter is currently part of the Wee County ladies football management team and is also manager of the Dee Rangers ladies, who he guided to a Meath Division 1 League title last year.
A stalwart of the Louth senior team for more than a decade, Clarke made his St Mary’s senior debut as a 16-year-old in 1999 and transferred to Dublin side St Sylvester’s in 2004 before returning to his Pairc Mhuire roots.
