Kevin Walsh will coach both the Cork and Killannin senior footballers this year.

Now in his second season as Cork football coach, the two-time Galway All-Ireland SFC winning midfielder and manager will also be part of new Killannin manager Gay O'Brien's backroom team. The split-season allows Walsh - who was player-manager of his home club in the late 1990s - to combine both roles.

"Killannin GAA is pleased to confirm the appointment of Gay O'Brien to the role of senior team Manager for the 2024 campaign," the club said in a Facebook post.

"This will be Gay's second term in charge of Killannin, having manged the team in 2004 and 2005. Gay has also been in charge of St James' Seniors and helped Barna secure promotion from Intermediate to Senior. He also managed Galway Senior Ladies for 2009-11 gaining a Connacht SFC title in 2009.

"Kevin Walsh, clubman and former Inter-County Senior Manager, will be supporting Gay in a coaching capacity. Other selectors include Dave Melia and Mark Clinch. We wish the management group every success in 2024."
