Andy Moran’s Leitrim side made it two wins from two in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League by seeing off London (1-8 to 0-6) in Carrick-on-Shannon this afternoon.
Played in difficult conditions, Ryan O’Rourke’s poached goal in the 20th minute gave the hosts a foothold and they’d go on to lead by 1-3 to 0-2 at the half ahead of four Darragh Rooney second-half points helping to seal the victory.
In Pearse Park, Tipperary scored their first win of the campaign on a 0-16 to 0-14 scoreline against hosts Longford.
Having led by the same margin at half-time (0-7 to 0-5), the scores of Paddy Creedon and Sean O’Connor (2) late on ensured an important pair of points for the Premier men.
