Kerry hit three goals past Monaghan as they claimed their first win of this year’s Allianz Football League campaign on a 3-15 to 1-12 scoreline in Clones.
Looking to back up last weekend’s late victory over Dublin with another upset, it was the hosts that struck the game’s first goal via a palmed effort from Ryan O’Toole in the 15th minute that looked to make up for a shaky Farney start.
Points from Jack McCarron and Kieran Duffy surged Vinny Corey’s men in front but Cillian Burke’s goal at the other end saw the Munster champions towards a 1-9 to 1-5 lead at the half.
Monaghan closed the gap to three after the turnaround prior to substitute David Clifford and Sean O'Shea hammering in well-timed goals down the home stretch that iced the win for the Kingdom.
TweetIt didn’t take David Clifford long to rattle the onion bag. Gave a few words to one of the Monaghan defenders after too😜
