Mickey Burke was the man of the moment after making his 200th senior appearance in a Meath shirt in his home ground of Longwood yesterday.
The 38-year-old dual star was given a guard of honour to mark the occasion, but Down spoiled the party somewhat with a 2-20 to 1-16 victory in the opening round of the Kehoe Cup.
Afterwards, Burke was presented with Longwood and Meath jerseys bearing the number 200 while, in a lovely gesture, visiting manager Ronan Sheehan presented him with a Down jersey.
