After extra time couldn’t separate the sides, Casltehaven won the Munster Club SFC final 4-3 on penalties.

The football was tense as the weather conditions played a huge role in the contest. Heavy rain left the TUS Gaelic Grounds wet in places while the gusting wind changed direction constantly, but predominantly blew down the field.

Dingle led 0-6 to 0-5 at the break having played with the elements. Conor Geaney was on target twice for the Kerrymen while Brian Hurley kicked three points for the Cork champions.

In a low scoring second half Dingle were ahead by 0-9 to 0-7 with six minutes left to play. Hurley leveled the game but Conor Geaney hit what looked like it could be the winner in added time. Then up popped Hurley once more to send the game to extra time.

Dingle hit three unanswered points in the first period of extra time with the wind at their backs and still held a point advantage as the game went into added time after the second added period before Castlehaven leveled once more 0-13 apiece thanks to Cathal Maguire's score at the death.

Damien Cahalane went into goals for the penalty shoot out that followed and after the sides were level 3-3, Mikey Geaney was off target for the Kerry champion in sudden death.
