Billy Drennan says Kilkenny will be doing everything they can to stop Limerick from achieving an unprecedented five-in-a-row of All-Ireland SHC titles next year.
Speaking to reporters at this week’s Fitzgibbon Cup launch, the Maynooth University student admitted: “We don’t want them to do the five-in-a-row anyway. We’ll be buzzing for it more than ever this year.
“We’ll take it game by game so we won’t be looking at them (Limerick) too much yet. Whoever we’re playing we’ll look at them and hopefully come out on the right side of it. I think every team is looking at it like that.
“I suppose any time you go out and play Limerick now you’re nearly treating it as an All-Ireland final. Just to try to stop them. Every team is getting closer to them and I’d say this year it’s going to be an interesting year.”
