Kilcormac/Killoughey have opted against fielding two teams in next year’s Offaly SHC.

K/K won both the SHC and SHC ‘B’ titles this year and are entitled to have two teams in the top flight. But at their AGM last Thursday night, the club decided to keep their second team in the SHC ‘B’, thereby avoiding a raft of issues that could arise, including the prospect of two teams from the same club facing each other.

There is speculation that Seir Kieran – who were relegated to SHC ‘B’ this year – and beaten SHC ‘B’ finalists Clodiagh Gaels could play-off for the right to dine at the top table next year.
