Cork and Westmeath name new camogie managers

Former Cork hurling star Ger Manley is to succeed Matthew Twomey as the Rebel County’s new senior camogie manager.
Manley was a coach in Twomey’s backroom team when Cork captured the O’Duffy Cup this year. He has also been involved with camogie and hurling teams in Waterford, Kerry, Laois and Tipperary. His appointment on a two-year term is subject to ratification at the next county board meeting.
Meanwhile, Padraic Connaughton has been installed as manager of the Westmeath intermediate camogie team, taking over from Tipperary native Diarmuid Cahill who spent nearly two years at the helm.
The former Westmeath hurler has enjoyed huge success with his native Raharney who he has led to five county senior titles, three Leinster junior titles and an All-Ireland junior success in recent years.
