Kerry midfielder Jack Barry won’t be lining out for his club or county in 2024.
According to RTÉ, Barry is taking a year out from football to go travelling to Australia. The news comes after he helped Na Gaeil to a SFC relegation playoff victory over Kerins O’Rahilly’s last weekend, a result which consigned the Strand Road club and reigning Munster club champions to the intermediate grade for 2024.
The 28-year-old made his Kerry senior debut in 2017 and went on to form a strong midfield partnership with club-mate Diarmuid O’Connor as the Kingdom won the 2022 All-Ireland SFC title and reached this year’s final as well.
