St Molaise Gaels are just 60 minutes away from winning back-to-back IFC and SFC titles in Sligo.

Last year’s intermediate champions qualified for their first Owen B Hunt decider in 45 years with a 0-14 to 0-10 victory over Drumcliffe-Rosses Point at Markievicz Park on Sunday. The North Sligo club have been on the crest of a wave since coming up from intermediate last year and got across to the line thanks to late points from captain Alan McLoughlin and substitute Cathal Herron.

In the other semi-final, goals from Barry O’Mahony and Mark McDaniel helped Coolera/Strandhill to a 2-14 to 1-9 win over Mark Brehony’s St Mary’s. It means that there will be a new pairing in the final on Sunday week after seven years of Tourlestrane dominance.
