Éire Óg saw off Tinryland by 2-13 to 0-7 this afternoon to claim their 31st Carlow senior football championship title.
The Carlow Town side netted both of their goals in the closing 10 minutes at Netwatch Cullen Park to secure a first crown since 2020.
Points from Ross Dunphy and Darragh O’Brien helped the victors edge a 0-4 to 0-2 lead at the halfway stage and they’d stretch it to five points after the turnaround.
Dunphy’s goal on 50 minutes saw Éire Óg with one hand on the trophy and their second came seven minutes later after a goal mouth scramble to seal the deal.
