Loughgiel Shamrocks ended Dunloy’s five in-a-row bid and advanced to the Antrim senior hurling championship final after an impressive 1-21 to 0-13 victory in Ballycastle this afternoon.
Paul Boyle’s superb goal on 15 minutes (watch it below) gave Loughgiel the upper hand as they went on to lead by 1-9 to 0-7 at half-time.
Dunloy weren’t able to close the gap and Loughgiel sailed over the scores to dump out the All-Ireland finalists from earlier this year and leave themselves a win away from a first senior crown since 2016.
They will face Cushendall in the Volunteer Cup decider after the Ruairí Ógs dished out a 4-15 to 1-9 hammering to Ballycastle yesterday (Saturday).
Neil McManus registered 1-6 over the hour for the victors while county captain Eoghan Campbell put in a ‘Man of the Match’ performance from centre half-back.
