Local chart-topping singer-songwriter Mundy will provide the pre-match entertainment when the Offaly SHC final returns to Birr after a 17-year lapse on Sunday, October 15.
Mundy, whose real name is Edmond Enright, is no stranger to St Brendan’s Park where he starred on underage Birr teams alongside All-Ireland winners Simon Whelahan and Darren Hanniffy.
The finalists will be known after this weekend’s semi-finals between holders Shinrone and an up-and-coming Ballinamere team, and old rivals Kilcormac/Killoughey and St Rynagh’s. Glenisk O’Connor Park will host both semi-finals, but not the final after Offaly GAA gave the green light last year for Birr - which is the traditional home of Offaly hurling - to stage the showpiece game.
