Peter Hogan and Pauric Mahony bagged first half goals as Ballygunner beat De La Salle 2-26 to 0-21 to complete an unprecedented 10-in-a-row of Waterford SHC titles at Walsh Park.

The ‘Gunners remarkable 53-match unbeaten run stretches back to 2015 when De La Salle were the last team in Waterford to beat them. But their city rivals were no match on this occasion as Pauric Mahony finished with 1-8 and Kevin Mahony shot 0-5 from play in a man of the match performance.

With Reuben Halloran in fine scoring form, De La Salle were just two points adrift, 0-8 to 0-10, after 24 minutes, but the champions then rattled off an unanswered 2-2 to take a 2-12 to 0-10 lead into the break and it was all over bar the shouting when Kevin Mahony split the post three times in the opening four minutes of the second half.
