Kerry timed the opening goal of today’s All-Ireland senior football championship final against Dublin to perfection to take in the lead at half-time at Croke Park.
After Stephen Cluxton’s second free of the day had restored the Dubs’ two-point lead in first-half injury-time, this goal from Paul Geaney (see it below) off the back of a brilliantly weighed David Clifford kick-pass saw the Kingdom snatch the 1-4 to 0-6 lead at the break.
Incidentally, Geaney’s strike marks the first goal 41-year-old Cluxton has conceded since the 2019 All-Ireland final replay against Kerry.
