The draws for the semi-finals of the Sam Maguire Football Championships, if required, will take place on Sunday evening after the games on RTE 2 tv.

The draws will be conducted by GAA President Larry McCarthy and Derek Kent, Chairman of the C.C.C.C. and overseeing the draw is Bernard Smith, the GAA’s Games Administration Manager.

The four quarter-final winners from this weekend's games will be drawn to two semi-finals - subject to avoidance of repeat pairings from the overall championship, where possible.  The semi-finals are due to take place on the weekend of 15/16 July at Croke Park.

Possible Repeat Pairings.Kerry v Cork, Kerry v Mayo, Cork v Mayo, Tyrone v Armagh, Tyrone v Monaghan, Armagh v Derry & Monaghan v Derry.

Fixture details will be confirmed by the C.C.C.C.  on Monday afternoon next.

Note

If Tyrone & Derry win, no draw is required, as both teams have played Armagh & Monaghan, and the pairings would be Tyrone v Derry & Winner of Armagh/Monaghan v Winner of Dublin/Mayo.

If Kerry, Cork & Mayo win, a repeat pairing can’t be avoided, so all four teams would be drawn from the same bowl, 1st team out will play the 2nd team. The 3rd team will play the 4th team drawn.

In all other combinations, a repeat pairing(s) can be avoided.
