"It's a bigger weekend for Tyrone than it is for Armagh"

Oisin McConville feels as though Tyrone will “probably” win Saturday’s crunch All-Ireland SFC round 2 clash against his native Armagh in Omagh.

The Red Hands are in bad need of points after going down to Galway by three a fortnight ago while Kieran McGeeney’s men struggled past Westmeath for an opening win.

Speaking on BBC Sport NI’s GAA Social Extra, McConville said he views this weekend as a bigger one for Tyrone than their opponents.

"I think Armagh will respond [after a sub-par display against Westmeath] but I think there was something about that performance in defeat from Tyrone against Galway," said the 2002 All-Ireland winner.

"It's a bigger weekend for Tyrone than it is for Armagh. The reason why I think that is because if you're starting to think you've recovered well and getting things together.

"Like I thought they looked really fresh against Galway. If Tyrone were to lose another one, I know the chances are they'll beat Westmeath and go through but I think this will be a massive one to lose.

"Because I think they believe they're on the right road and I also think that. It should be a cracker."
