Clare ousted Cork from the Munster senior football championship thanks to a 0-14 to 0-13 win over the Rebels at Cusack Park, Ennis this afternoon.

After having built up a 0-6 to 0-4 lead at half-time, the Leesiders were four up early in the second thanks to a brace of Steven Sherlock points.

Sherlock would finish with 0-10 to his name, however it wasn’t enough as the Banner men finished brilliantly to down the fancied visitors.

The points of Eoin Cleary and Keelan Sexton were what closed the gap for Colm Collins’s men in the third quarter and they’d hit the front with 10 minutes to go via scores from Gavin Cooney and Jamie Malone.

Sherlock squared the sides in the 64th minute prior to Cleary giving the hosts’ back the lead and Kevin O’Donovan squaring matters for the last time in the third added minute.

Once last chance fell to Cillian Rouine and he held his nerve to take and progress Clare towards a provincial semi-final date against Limerick, with the winners set to enter into the Sam Maguire race this summer.
