London secured their status in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League for next season after edging out Sligo by 1-27 to 1-25 in Carrickmore this afternoon.
The Exiles got the perfect start with a goal after nine minutes and it sent towards a 1-13 to 0-14 half-time lead.
Andy Kilcullen, Tomás Cawley as well as Diarmuid Hanniffy shot points for Sligo to keep on their opponents and they’d even net a late goal through Joe McHugh to reduce the margin to one (1-24 to 1-23).
However, London were able to hold out of the victory to secure their league status and send the Yeats men down to Division 3A in the process.
