A Westmeath GAA club is hoping that the current record fertiliser prices will encourage people to enter its upcoming fundraising draw.

Caulry GAA is offering people – and farmers in particular – the chance to win 10 tonnes of 18-6-12 fertiliser, valued at €8,000, to help with its plans to develop an all-weather pitch and walking track. The fertiliser draw is part of the Mount Temple club’s ‘Lord of the Mount’ fundraiser where three teams are running three different campaigns to help fund the pitch development.

The other prizes include the supply and installation of 15 solar PV panels and a performance by Mount Temple’s most famous sons, Foster & Allen, at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate on March 31.

The draw for the fertiliser will take place on April 24 with tickets now on sale.
