Cork picked up their third win in-a-row as they kept things to script against Westmeath with a 2-21 to 0-21 win at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in the Allianz Hurling League this afternoon.

Pat Ryan’s charges made the perfect start on home turf as Shane Kingston lashed the sliotar to the Lake men's net for the first score of the game.

While the visitors hung with their unbeaten opponents for much of the first-half, Shane Barrett’s goal would send the Leesiders in at the half with a comfortable 2-11 to 0-10 lead.

Killian Doyle would finish 0-12 for Westmeath before being forced off throughout injury with eight minutes remaining, and while the Leinster side outscored their opponents by a point in the second-half it’d still leave them six short.

The result keeps Cork at the summit of Division 1 Group A, while Joe Fortune’s men remain bottom after three rounds.
